San Antonio’s own Andria Rose just released her newest single “Tomorrow” featuring Quelle Rox, which follows the slow melodic tempo of her EP Electric. A self-proclaimed velvet dream pop artist, Rose has previously performed with the likes of Kali Uchis, Y La Bamba, and Girl Ultra.
The slow melodic vocals and tempo in “Tomorrow” absorb the listener in a surreal trance, and personally reminded me of the yearning one might feel for a lost love. The chorus explains that “Someday it’ll come back to me,” pensively hopeful that whatever has been lost might be coming back tomorrow or at least sometime soon. While the song has a more serious tone, there’s still a dream like feeling to it, especially as she sings “Tomorrows so far away, and I cant feel my face” as if she may be stuck in some sort of a trance.
While many of Andria Rose’s songs follow the slower pace of “Tomorrow,” this is definitely one of her sadder songs lyrically. Life isn’t always happy, so we appreciate that Andria Rose sings about the reality of missing something or someone you’ve lost, and wanting them to come back.
Overall, I really enjoyed “Tomorrow,” and am definitely looking forward to hearing more of Andria’s dream-like music in the future.
